Benyamin Gissin was born in Rishon Le Zion. He studied at the local elementary school (Haviv) in the village and in the Mikve Israel Agricultural school.
In the early 20's he left for Australia. He worked there in the family oil factory and after he studied optics he worked as an optomentrist. Towards the end of the 20's he returned to Rishon Le Zion. He married Tzvia Pupko and built their home with his own hands on a hillock in the Abramovitch neighbourhood.
He was a member of "Hagana", a "noter" policeman in the Jewish Defence unit. His home served as an outpost for the Hagana and the basement of his home was used by the Hagana and a shooting range.
Later, together with his wife, he opened a grocery store (in Herzl St.) in which they worked to the end of their days.
Benyamin Gissin was a member of the Freemasons and acted as its president in Rishon Le Zion. He was a member of the Farmers? Association.
