Dr. Rachel Ziv was born in Rishon Lezion. She learned in the elementary school ("Chaviv") and in the high school "Ha'Gymnasia Ha'Realit".
In the years 1943-1946, as a soldier in the British army, she served in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic near the Suez Canal. During the War of Independence, as a soldier, she served in the Air Force, again, as an aircraft mechanic.
After the release from the British army, she attended a nursing school and served in a baby clinic as a nurse, 1946-1958. Later, she turned to study psychology at the Bar - Ilan University, completing her doctorial studies at the Tel - Aviv University and for thirteen years managed a psychological station of the Psychological Service in Tel – Aviv.
Since her retirement, she continues to work as a teacher, instructor and therapist.
